NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion head men's basketball coach Jeff Jones announced on Thursday the signing of Leeroy Odiahi as part of the 2023 recruiting class. Odiahi, a 6-foot-11, center from Tralee, Ireland joins the Monarchs from Indian Hills Community College.

"Leeroy played on a very good junior college team and received outstanding coaching. His stats obviously don't jump out at you, but he is a big-time rim protector and can finish at the rim. We definitely got a steal with Leeroy," said Jones.

Odiahi played in 28 games this season for Indian Hills as they advanced to the national semifinals of National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I championships. He scored nine points in a loss to Missouri State-West Plains and hauled in six rebounds in a game three times.

In his first season with Indian Hills in 2021-22, he had season highs of eight points against Northeast Community College and eight rebounds against North Central Missouri.

He previously attended Mercy Mounthawk in Tralee, Ireland playing for head coach John Dowling where he helped lead the team to the All-Ireland National Championship and also competed at the European Championships for Team Ireland.
