NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men's basketball head coach Jeff Jones announced on Thursday the signing of Vasean Allette as part of the 2023 recruiting class. He is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound point guard from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and United Scholastic Academy.
"Vasean is a dynamic scorer that can create for himself and his teammates. He is relentless on the court and consistently in attack mode," Jones said. "His work ethic is second to none and he desperately wants to be the very best."
Allette was a standout in the 2022 Under Armour Association where he averaged 29.7ppg, 5.7 rpg, 4.5apg, 2.6spg on the summer circuit. He was named the MVP of the Biosteel All-Canadian game where he scored 30 points with seven steals and two assists.
He also has an international tournament background as he participated in the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship as he averaged 18.8 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game, and 3.8 assists per game with Canada who won the Bronze Medal. Allette also earned All-Tournament "All-Star Five" selection for the event.
Allette joins the Monarchs as the top-ranked Canadian player in the class of 2023, and a top 100 player in North American by 247sports.com
He joins Devin Ceaser and Daniel Pounds as members of the 2023 recruiting class.
