Before securing your spot, please ensure you have read through all our Policies and Booking information to guarantee a smooth process. Once you've familiarized yourself with the guidelines, please wait for an official confirmation from an ODU Representative before proceeding with payment to avoid any complications.

Policies and Booking Information

Requests must be received at least two (2) weeks prior to the event. Note: spirit squad members, including Big Blue, are students at ODU. Appearance availability during prime class time (Monday-Friday) may be limited.

Non-ODU units may pay via credit card.
Appearances will not last longer than two (2) hours.
A private and secure changing room is required.
Parking is required.
Big Blue’s suit may not be loaned out.
For requests involving cheerleaders and dancers, approximately 4-5 members will be sent.

Cheer and Dance Appearance Information:

Cheerleaders and dancers will mingle and pump up guests with basic cheers.
They do not perform routines at events.
You must provide a system for the ODU fight song if desired.
All appearances are contingent on the availability of the student performers.

Important Information and Details:

Water must be provided for all performers at all events.
Appearances will not be made on ODU game days.
A handler must be promitted into the event or provided for Big Blue.
Appearances at wedding receptions must be at the beginning of the reception before any beverages are served.
Spirit squad members will not make appearances at bars, casinos, or events supporting/fundraising for political candidates, or religious worship services.
Big Blue may not appear at outdoor events during inclement weather, even if it’s sprinkling.
10 -15 minute breaks are required during extreme temperatures.
Reimbursement for gas must be provided for any appearances off campus.

Cheer/Dynasty Dance Booking (price + applicable fees)

ODU units (University departments, student organizations, etc.)
0-1 hour appearance: $50
1-2 hour appearance: $75

Non-ODU units (non-profit organizations)
0-1 hour appearance: $100
1-2 hour appearance: $150

Non-ODU units
0-1 hour appearance: $150
1-2 hour appearance: $200

University travel fees will be applied to appearances off campus
$0.545 per mile from the Chartway Arena to the event and back
