Welcome to the ODU Athletics Spirit Squad Appearance Request form. Please take a moment to fill out the form below in its entirety.
The ODU Spirit Squad members are ambassadors of the University and Athletics Department. Consisting of the Cheerleading Squad, Dynasty Dance Team and Big Blue, they make many appearances each year for athletics, University, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, corporate and private events.
Please note that at this time we will be taking requests for appearances from the Cheerleading Squad, Dynasty Dance Team and Big Blue on a case by case basis. If you wish to make a request please fill out the form below.
Policies
- Payment will be processed following your event. Please make sure that you correctly input this information so that the payment can be processed in a timely manner.
- Requests must be received at least two weeks prior to the event.
- A private and secure changing room is required.
- Please note that Spirit Squad members are students at ODU, and as such, appearance availability during prime class time (Monday-Friday) may be limited.
- Non-ODU units may pay via credit card.
- Appearances will not last longer than two (2) hours.
- Under no circumstances will Big Blue’s suit be loaned out.
- For requests involving cheerleaders and dancers, approximately 4-5 members will be sent.
- Cheerleaders and dancers will mingle and pump up guests with basic cheers. They do not perform routines at events. You must provide a system for the ODU fight song if desired.
- All appearances are contingent on the availability of the student performers. Although every effort will be made to accommodate scheduled events, ODU will not be held liable for missed appearances.
- Water must be provided for all performers at all events.
- Appearances will not be made on ODU game days.
- Appearances by ODU Spirit Squads may not be publicized.
- Appearances at wedding receptions must be at the beginning of the reception before any beverages are served.
- Spirit Squad members will not travel more than 45 miles from ODU.
- Spirit Squad members will not make appearances at bars, casinos, or events supporting/fundraising for political candidates, or religious worship services.
- Big Blue may not appear at outdoor events during inclement weather.
- Appearances during finals week and winter break are unlikely but subject to availability.
Big Blue Cost for Booking

- 1-2 hour appearance: $150
- Non-ODU units (non-profit organizations)

- University travel fees will be applied to appearances off campus
- $0.545 per mile from the Chartway Arena to the event and back
