NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men's basketball head coach Jeff Jones announced on Wednesday morning the addition of Devin Ceaser as part of the 2023 recruiting class. Ceasar is a 6-foot-1, 172-pound guard from Waldorf, Md., who transferred from the University of Buffalo.
"We are extremely excited to have Devin join the Monarch family," said Jones. "He is an outstanding young man and an explosive and athletic playmaker that can play on or off the ball."
As a freshman at Buffalo, Ceaser saw action in 19 games as a combo guard. He scored a season high 25 against SUNY Canton.
Ceaser finished his high school career at St. Stephen's/St. Agnes in Alexandria, Va. after starting at St. Mary's Ryken in Leonardtown, Md. for three years. He was Conference Co-Player of the Year as a senior and was named All-Metro, All-State and All-Northern Virginia first team in 2021-22. In the summer of 2022, he led DMV Live in scoring averaging 23 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game.
"With a beautiful campus, great facilities and fan base, the decision to come to ODU was easy," Ceaser said. "Coach Jones was upfront with his philosophy and how he runs things at ODU which is something I can get behind. I've known Coach Brooks since early in high school and him being a coach here played a big role. I also get to be closer to home."
