NORFOLK, Va. - Senior Anton Mikaelsson broke the J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:01.51 on Friday night against Virginia Wesleyan.

Nick Wukovits won the 500 freestyle, edging out teammate Noah Wilkins with a time of 4:50.45, while Wilkins finished in 4:50.74.

Jacklyn VandePoel won the women's 100 IM and Filip Svedberg won the men's 100 IM.

Mary Escobar won the women's 50 backstroke. Ashley Brem won women's the 50 breaststroke, while Peter Durisin won the men's 50 breaststroke.

Katie Ellett won the 100 butterfly for the Monarchs, as VandePoel won the women's 50 freestyle and Parker Harp won the men's 50 freestyle.

VandePoel won again for the Momarchs in the 100 freestyle and Lucas Cortini won the men's 100 freestyle.

Brem and Durisin won again in the 100 breaststroke, while Nikia Campbell won the women's 200 freestyle and Donovan Pope won the men's 200 freestyle.

The men's team will compete in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) from Feb. 14-17 in Athens, Georgia, on the campus of the University of Georgia.

The women's squad competes in the Conference USA Championship from Feb. 21-24 in Atlanta, Georgia, on the campus of Georgia Tech.
