MINI MONARCH REMINDER:
Mini Monarchs will be having a pizza party for al members Sunday following the Georgia State game. Meet in section 101, 102 following the game and one of the Lady Monarch managers will them lead to the party. Remember, members must show their Kids Club membership card in order to get in. A sign-up sheet will be available at the Mini Monarchs table prior to tip on Sunday.
LADY MONARCH MOMENTS:
The Lady Monarchs close out a two-game homestand against Georgia State at Noon in front of the Comcast SportsNet cameras. Mike Corey and Jody Lavin-Patrick will be on the call.
Senior Tiffany Green poured in her sixth double-double of the year with her 14-point, 14-rebound effort against the the Patriots Thursday night. Her performance helped push her over the 1,200 career point mark.
Sophomore Jasmine Parker, in her third career start, led the Lady Monarchs in scoring for the second straight game. Parker netted 16 points in playing a career-high 36 minutes against Mason.
Sophomore Sierra Little recorded her first career start as a Lady Monarch Thursday night against George Mason. She captured a career-high 14 points, in her first double digit scoring performance, along with a career-high eight rebounds.
Freshman Mairi Buchan, who has been a part of the starting five since the Ole Miss game to kick off 2009, set a career mark in assists (7) and steals (3) in the 73-42 victory over Mason.
The Lady Monarchs limited the Patriots to just 26.3 percent from the floor (15-of-57), the lowest field goal percentage by an ODU opponent in 2008-09. Additionally, the 42 points scored by the Patriots were the fewest allowed by an Old Dominion opponent this season.
The Lady Monarchs were without three starters Thursday night. Senior Jazzmin Parker had started her last 49 contests.

ABOUT GEORGIA STATE:
The Panthers enter Sunday's game with a 9-5 overall mark and are even at 2-2 in the CAA coming off a 74-65 loss at Drexel Thursday night. Georgia State is led by junior forward Danyiell McKeller at 13.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, but missed the game with the Dragons due to a knee injury. Rookie guard Jylisa Williams checks in as the squad's second leading scorer at 11.2 points per game along with 4.8 boards per contest. Preseason First Team All-CAA pick, senior guard Brittany Hollins, is averaging 8.9 points per game along with a team-high 38 steals as one of the CAA's leaders in thefts.
ALL-TIME SERIES WITH GEORGIA STATE:
Old Dominion leads the all-time series 6-0. The Panthers are one of five CAA teams that have yet to record a victory over the Lady Monarchs. The series began three years ago, during the 2005-06 season when Georgia State moved to the CAA from the Atlantic Sun Conference.
LAST TIME VS. GEORGIA STATE:
The No. 13/15 Old Dominion rolled to its 11th straight win in a 76-44 victory over Georgia State to sweep the season series with the Lady Panthers at the Ted Constant Convocation Center back on January 31st, 2009. Georgia State opened with a basket by Shay Rawls, but the first of four three-pointers by Jazzmin Walters was all Old Dominion would need to take over the lead for good. Walters would go on to finish with 14 points, as one of four Lady Monarchs in double figures, and tie her career-mark. Shahida Williams gave Old Dominion a double-figure lead five minutes into the contest and saw the Lady Monarchs expand its advantage to as many as 19 in the opening half. At the half, Old Dominion owned a 36-20 edge, as Georgia State became the fourth opponent this season to be held to 20 or less points at the intermission. Georgia State pulled no closer than 18 in the second half. Danyiell McKeller, who led the Lady Panthers with 14 points, completed the traditional three-point play with 15:25 left with the Lady Monarchs continuing to lead, 42-24. Old Dominion expanded its lead to 30 in the game's final two minutes. T.J. Jordan led all scorers with 16 points, Joining Jordan and Walters in double figures were Williams with 13, and CAA Player of the Week Jessica Canady coming off the bench to net 10. Brittany Hollins, who captured a game-high 25 points in the first meeting with the Lady Monarchs, was the only other Lady Panther to post double digits, as she collected 10. The Lady Monarchs held a commanding 48-30 edge on the boards with Old Dominion led by Megan Pym with 10.
HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?:
The 42 points scored by the George Mason Patriots on Thursday night were the fewest netted by an ODU opponent this season. Addtionally, the Lady Monarchs limited the Patriots to just 26.3 percent from the floor (15-of-57), the lowest field goal percentage by an ODU opponent in 2008-09.
HOW HIGH CAN YOU GO?:
Conversely there were several Lady Monarch who registered career marks in Thursday night's 73-42 victory over George Mason. Sophomore Sierra Little, in her first career start, poured in a career-high 14 points and eight rebounds. Fellow classmate Jasmine Parker, in her third career start played a career-high 36 minutes. Rookie Mairi Buchan, who started her fifth straight contest, dished out seven assists and collected three thefts for career marks. Senior Jen Nuzzo tied her career mark with three steals, while classmate Tiffany Green tied her steals mark with five. Sophomore Vicki Collier tied her career-high with four boards.
THE "COMMITTEE":
If you hear head coach Wendy Larry refer to "the committee", she's referring to the younger members of the Lady Monarch squad - Mairi Buchan, Jasmine Parker, Sierra Little, Vicki Collier, Russia Voronina, and Margaret Harvey. "The committee" certainly came up big in ODU's 79-70 victory at UNC-Wilmington on January 8th. Sophomores Vicki Collier, Little, and Voronina all came off the bench to capture career numbers in helping the Lady Monarchs to victory. Along with Collier's career-high eight points, Little reset her mark with a career-high seven points, and Voronina playing in a career-high 13 minutes went 3-of-3 from the field to collect a career-high six points. Parker, who then got the starting non in the last game, a 66-56 victory at Northeastern, poured in a team-high 17 points.
THE "COMMITTEE" STRIKES AGAIN:
With three starters on the bench for Thursday's game against George Mason, the members of "the committee" certainly got their share of playing time. Freshman Mairi Buchan started her fifth straight game, doling out a season-high seven assists and three steals. Sophomore Jasmine Parker, making her third career start and second straight, led the team in scoring for the second time this year with a game-high 16 points. Sophomore Sierra Little garnered her first career nod to the starting five and wound up with a career-high 14 points and eight rebounds.
THE "COMMITTEE" IN THESTARTING FIVE:
Mairi Buchan, who has been a part of the starting five since the New Year, has averaged 6.6 points and 4.0 rebounds as a member of the starting corps. Jasmine Parker is pouring in 15.7 points as a starter along with shooting 50 percent from the field and an ever better yet 53 percent from downtown. Sophomore Sierra Little contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, career-highs, in her lone start so far against George Mason.
CAA HOME COURT STREAK:
The Lady Monarchs have won 36 straight homeCAA contests dating back to the January 14, 2005,78-59, victory over Virginia Commonwealth. ODU'slast conference loss at the Ted Constant ConvocationCenter was against Delaware, 70-73, on January 9,2005. Old Dominion holds a 162-2 home CAAmark.
