ORLANDO, Fla. – Old Dominion University Swimming set a pair of school records on the second night of the ASUN Swimming Championships, as Zachary Redding set the school record in the 100 butterfly and the men’s 200 freestyle relay broke its record with a time of 1:19.25.
Redding broke the school record in the 100 fly with a time of 46.43 to finish in third place and earn a third-place finish for the second-straight night. Dawson Truong came in ninth with a time of 48.96, Jordan Davis finished 11th with a time of 49.14 and Nick Chierico took 12th with a time of 49.28.
The men’s 200 freestyle relay team of Redding, Jordan Smolsky, Robby Young and Bryce Mortimer came in third with a school record time of 1:19.25.
The women’s 200 free relay team of Addison Elliott, Emma Seidel, Lauren Masters and Bella Pachek finished in seventh with a time of 1:34.98.
Seidel led ODU in the women’s 100 butterfly to place 10th with a time of 55.80.
The women’s 400 IM saw Kristilynn Mosley finish in 11th with a time of 4:29.91. Sophia Kapla placed 13th in a time of 4:31.88 and Charlotte Everhart placed 15th in a time of 4:35.93.
Lucas Abd finished in 10th in the 400 IM with a time of 3:56.61 and Bryant Julian placed 13th in a time of 3:58.12.
In the 200 freestyle, Nick Martin finished in 11th with a time of 1:38.28. Grey Bremer came in 14th with a time of 1:38.42 and Ben Schattenberg finished in 15th with a time of 1:39.09.
The final event of the night was the 400-medley relay, as the women’s team of Elliott, Jadyn Whitt, Seidel and Pachek finished in seventh with a time of 3:46.76.
The men’s 400 medley relay team of Mortimer, Sallaku, Truong and Redding came in fifth in a time of 3:13.62.
Day three of the ASUN Championships begins tomorrow with the prelims at 10 a.m. with the finals starting at 6 p.m.
