NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's and women's swimming teams dominated American on Sunday afternoon at the J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool. The women's team won by a score of 181-81, while the men won with a score of 190-72.

"Today was a great day of racing for us.  The team was very excited to be able to compete today and saw many improvements towards our goals for this season," ODU head coach Jess Livsey said. "Together we gained a lot of momentum as a team and are looking forward to our last dual meet of the season next weekend.  It was a very special day as well as we honored our 10 seniors in their last home meet at the J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool."
 
The Monarch women placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.46. The team of Peri Farling, Gabby Tosi, Martina Ciriesi and Tara Enneking finished just .15 out of first.
 
The ODU men won the opening 200 medley relay with a time of 1:34.15. Jacob Cobb, Peter Durisin, Liam Redman and Noah Wilkins swam for the Monarchs.
 
In the opening individual event, Brynn Jewell won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:47.84. Kinsey Rushevics came in fourth with a time of 11:15.65.
 
Carson Doll made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs in the 1000 free, winning with a time of 9:50.68, while Will McDermott placed third in 10:14.05.
 
ODU continued its winning ways as Summer Miln, Miranda Byrne and Brigid Donnelly went 1-2-3 in the 200 freestyle. Miln won with a time of 1:54.91, while Byrne took second in 1:58.03. Donnelly finished with a time of 1:58.90.
 
Ryan Lincicum won the 200 freestyle for the men with a time of 1:45.50. Thomas Ray took third with a time of 1:47.66.
 
In the 100 backstroke, Summer Sampson earned the win with a time of 58.00, while Mary Dunworth took second in 59.16 and Farling placed third with a time of 59.95.
 
In the men's 100 backstroke, Jacob Cobb won with a time of 52.79 as Johnathan Walden came in second in 55.52, while Jack Grotjohn finished third in 55.79.
 
Enneking added another ODU win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.07, while Marian Cheramy placed second in 1:08.21.
 
Peter Durisin continued ODU's winning ways with a win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.89. Hugo Eriksson came in third with a time of 1:01.57.
 
In the 200 butterfly, Elin Kata Sigurgeirsdottir was victorious with a time of 2:10.96. Brynn Jewell earned second with a time of 2:12.32.
 
The men's 200 butterfly saw Zander Johnson eke out a win with a time of 1:57.37, while Anthony Capizzi placed third in 1:58.52.
 
Summer Miln and Laila Webb finished second and third in the 50 freestyle for the Monarchs. Miln took second with a time of 24.33, while Webb swam a time of 24.75. 
 
Liam Redman won the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.98 as Noah Wilkins took third in 21.17.
 
Miln added to her win total with a triumph in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.57. Byrne came in second with a time of 54.25, while Laila Webb was third with a time of 54.55.
 
Noah Wilkins came back to win the men's 100 free with a time of 46.13. Lincicum took third with a time of 47.88.
 
Sampson earned her second win of the day taking the 200 backstroke, with a time of 2:06.32. Mary Dunworth finished second with a time of 2:11.16.
 
Cobb added a win in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.21. Jack Grotjohn placed second with a time of 2:02.69.
 
Enneking earned her second win of the day with a victory in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.17. Martina Ciriesi finished second with a time of 2:27.44 and Kristina Zachary placed third in 2:29.93.
 
Durisin added to his win total with a win in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:12.49. Hugo Eriksson placed second in 2:13.58.
 
Brigid Donnelly struck the board first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:19.48. Kinsey Rushevics was third in 5:24.64.
 
Carson Doll won his second distance event of the day, this one the 500 freestyle, taking the race in a time of 4:44.97. Thomas Ray took third in 4:47.36.
 
In the 100 butterfly, Angela Sicaja placed second with a time of 59.19.
 
Liam Redman won the men's 100 butterfly with a time of 50.60.
 
In the final individual event of the day, Martina Ciriesi won the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.29, while Brynn Jewell took third with a time of 4:43.20.
 
The men's 400 IM was swept by the Monarchs, as Jacob Cobb won with a time of 4:14.41, Hugo Eriksson placed second in 4:19.58 and Anthony Capizzi finished third in 4:20.91.
 
The final event of the day was the 200 freestyle relay, as Miln, Webb, Dunworth and Enneking won for ODU with a time of 1:37.26.
 
ODU won the men's 200 freestyle relay with the team of Redman, Doll, Lincicum and Wilkins with a time of 1:24.16.
