CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Old Dominion women’s rowing team placed 15th in the Women’s Club 8+. In the field of 31 boats, ODU finished with a 17:52.800 time.

The Monarchs finished ahead of Holy Cross, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Fairfield, Manhattan and more.

There have been definite improvements from the previous year at the Head of the Charles," head coach Dan Garrett said. "The splits throughout the race stayed consistent, allowing the boat to close margins on the other teams."

The Head of the Charles Regatta is a massive rowing event that has taken place since 1965. It is the world’s largest two-day rowing contest, and it welcomes 11,000 athletes that represent 24 countries and over 800 schools.

"We're looking forward to heading back to the Lafayette River to gain some more speed for the upcoming Spring season," Garbutt went on to say.
