ST. MARY'S, Md. - Old Dominion University sailing competed in a pair of regattas this past weekend, claiming ninth at the St. Mary's team race and 11th at the Navy Spring Women's Intersectional.
Old Dominion skippers Scott Hoffmann, Dillon Paiva and Stephanie Roble joined crew Jill Fattibene, Julia Wiesner, Emily Reich, Miles Martschink and Arielle Darrow on the water for the Monarchs at the St. Mary's team race.
ODU won two of its final three races in the first round-robin, but finished just 2-7 in the highly talented 10-team field. In the second round-robin the Monarchs were only able to best St. Mary's to end the regatta with a 3-15 overall record.
Boston College won the team race with an 18-3 overall record.
Morgan Wilson led the Lady Monarchs at the Navy Spring Intersectional. Wilson competed with Shannon Wilkins and Jordan Stock in the A-Division and they claimed 10th in the 18-team field.
The Lady Monarchs finished no worse than ninth in eight of the final 10 A-Division races. ODU's best finish was third in race number 13.
Old Dominion claimed 11th in the B-Division with freshman skipper Corina Radtke teaming up with crew members Jessica Milligan and Arianna Baker. After a slow start, the Lady Monarchs posted Top 10 finishes in 11 of the final 14 races and a win in the 11th race.Boston College won the regatta with Brown following in second.
Old Dominion is back in action this weekend, competing at the Truxton Umsted and the St. Mary's Women's regattas.
