Career

2012-13: Named the ICSA Sportsman of the Year... Selected to the All-MAISA First Team for Coed Skippers... Claimed first place with Haley Garst in the A Division of the HWS Fall Intersectional...Took third in the A Division of the War Memorial with Chloe Constants and Joe David... Placed fourth in the A Division of the St. Mary's Fall Interconference with Constants... Secured an eighth place finish at the Rose Bowl regatta in the A Division while coupled with Alexa Cavalieri... Also registered 11thplace finishes while sailing with Cooper Paiva in the Sherman Hoyt Trophy A Division and with Cooper Paiva and Constants in the A Division of the Nevin's Trophy race... Helped the Monarchs secure a 10th place finish in the A Division of the Gill Coed Championships... Captured fourth place in the A Division of the Eastern Division of the ICSA Dinghy Coed National Semifinals with Constants and Cooper Paiva... Took third place alongside Constants and Cooper Paiva in the A Division of the America Trophy race.

2011-12: Named to the U.S. Sailing Development Team in March 2012 and trained with the U.S. Navy Seals and the U.S. Olympic Sailing team for a week in Colorado Springs, Colo... Along with with Chloe Constants, finished seventh in the Atlantic Coast Championship A Division Race, eighth in the Navy Fall A Division Race, 11th in the St. Mary's Fall Intersectional A Division Race and 12th in the Danmark Trophy A Division Race... Took third with Miles Martschink and Chloe Constants in the War Memorial A Division Race and 11th with Brady Stagg in the Sherman Hoyt Trophy A Division Race... Placed 15th in the Nevins Trophy A Division Race...In the spring, while paired with Chloe Constants, placed second in the Truxtun Umsted in the A Division and took sixth in the A Division of the America Trophy race... Finished second in the A Division of the Admiral's Cup and fourth in the A Division of the ICSA Eastern Semi-Final while sailing with Chloe Constants and Miles Martschink... Capped off the year with an 18th place finish at the Gill Dinghy National Championship with Chloe Constants, competing in the A Division race.

2010-11:
Finished fifth in the A-Division of the War Memorial along with teammates Stephanie Roble, Emily Reich and Miles Martschink... Sailed with Kaitlyn Harris to a fifth-place result in the A-Division at the Riley Cup... Claimed eighth in the A-Division at the Navy Fall with Roble, Reich and Martschink... Sailed in the 30-team USC Rose Bowl in which ODU finished seventh overall... Also competed in the Nevins Trophy, St. Mary's Fall, Danmark Trophy, HWS Intersectional and Atlantic Coast Dinghies.

2009-10:
Sailed with Alan Alkins and Wilson Stout at the ICSA Western Semifinals and the trio netted a fourth-place finish in the B-Division... Claimed fourth in the B-Division along with Kaitlyn Harris at the Tom Curtis Memorial Regatta... Competed with Zack Kelchner in the A-Division at the MAISA Top 9 Invite and ended the regatta in third-place... Was a member of the ODU squad that claimed fifth at the Prosser Trophy/MAISA Team Race.

Personal: Born April 15, 1991... Son of Roland Paiva and Diana Young-Paiva... Has an older brother, Coleman and a younger brother, Cooper... Majoring in Education at ODU.
