LADY MONARCH MOMENTS:
The Lady Monarchs have just three games left on the schedule including Thursday night's crucial match-up with Towson. Old Dominion will head to James Madison for its final road game on Sunday and return home on Wednesday for senior night hosting William & Mary.
Thursday's game against the Tigers has crucial seeding implications for both squads. A Lady Monarch win against Towson will clinch fourth place and have ODU avoid a first round game at the upcoming CAA Championships.
Junior Jessica Canady averaged 14.0 points and 12.5 rebounds last week as she captured her sixth and seventh double-doubles of the seasons in contest with Hofstra and George Mason. Against the Patriots, Canady led her squad with a game-high 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The six CAA losses for the Lady Monarchs this season are the most for ODU in CAA. ODU suffered five losses in 1991-92, their first year in the league. That season, however, Old Dominion went on to capture the first of its NCAA record 17 straight CAA titles.

ABOUT TOWSON:
Towson enters Thursday's contest fighting for the fourth and final first round bye spot when they take on the Lady Monarchs in the lone match-up with the two teams. The Tigers enter the contest winners of their last three contests including a 71-55 victory over Delaware on Sunday. Towson holds a 16-9 overall mark and 8-7 league record. Leading the way for the Tigers is Shanae Baker-Brice, who has led her Tiger team in scoring in 15 of Towson's 25 games this season. Baker-Brice is averaging 16.9 points per game as the CAA's third leading scorer. Second on the stat sheet is Katrina Wheeler, who is posting 10.3 points per game and team-leading 8.7 rebounds per contest.
ALL-TIME SERIES WITH TOWSON:
The Tigers remain one of three CAA teams that have yet to defeat the Lady Monarchs. Old Dominion holds an 12-0 all-time record since the two teams became conference rivals when Towson joined the league in the 2001-02 season. The closest game between these two teams occurred on February 5, 2004 as the Lady Monarchs escaped the Towson Center with a 68-64 victory. Last season, the Lady Monarchs captured an 73-61 victory on the Tigers' home court during the regular season and then danced on to the CAA championship game with a 74-51 win over fifth-seeded Towson in the tournament quarterfinals.
LAST TIME VS. TOWSON:
The top-seeded Old Dominion Lady Monarchs made their way to the 2008 CAA championship game after downing fifth-seeded Towson, 74-51, in the tournament semifinals back on March 15, 2008 at the Bob Carpenter Center. The victory gave Wendy Larry her 500th win as head coach at her alma mater. Former Lady Monarch Shahida Williams paced the Lady Monarchs with 19 points. Classmates T.J. Jordan and Megan Pym added in 12 and 11 respectively. Jordan connected on two three-pointers to bring her CAA and ODU record to 317 career treys. Pym went 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line. Jessica Canady netted 10 as the fourth Lady Monarch in double figures. The Tigers were led by Shanae Baker-Brice with 14 points. Half of Baker-Brice's points came from the free throw line where she went 7-of-8. Jamell Beasley came off the Tiger bench for 13 points. Old Dominion raced out to an 11-0 lead and held the Tigers without a field goal for the game's opening six and a half minutes. The Lady Monarchs would then deny Towson its second field goal of the game for another three and a half minutes. The Lady Monarchs led by as many as 20 in the opening half and entered the locker room with 14-point lead, up 36-22. Towson closed the gap to eight by the 14:01 mark of the second half and managed to pull within nine on three occasions. Alis Freeman hit one of two free throws capping a 7-0 Tiger run with five of the points coming at the line with six minutes to go. The run managed to cut the Old Dominion advantage to 53-44, but it would be as close as Towson would come. Old Dominion punched back with an 8-0 run thanks to four points apiece from Jordan and Pym to put the game away. The Lady Monarchs went up by as many as 25 in the closing minute for their largest lead of the afternoon.
