LADY MONARCH MOMENTS:
Old Dominion looks to return to the win column following back-to-back losses. The Lady Monarchs fell 67-72 to James Madison at home last Sunday and dropped a 62-75 contest at Georgia State on Thursday.
Thursday's loss at Georgia State was the first time the Lady Monarchs have posted back-to-back losses since the 2002-03 season when ODU fell to VCU, James Madison, and Delaware. It was also the first time since the 2004-05 season Old Dominion has fallen in more than one conference contest in a season.
The Lady Monarchs committed a season-high 28 turnovers resulting in 36 Georgia State points.
Tiffany Green led all scorers with 22 points against the Panthers. It was fifth time this year the senior post has score 20 or more points in a game and the eight time this season she has led Old Dominion in scoring.
Freshman Pryncess Tate-Dublin made her Lady Monarch debut on Thursday at Georgia State. Tate-Dublin was to redshirt the 2008-09 season, but the plan was scrubbed due to the amount of injuries suffered by the Lady Monarchs roster.
Following Sunday's contest, the Lady Monarchs return home to the friendly confines of the Ted Constant Convocation Center to close out season series with Northeastern on Thursday and UNC-Wilmington on Sunday.

ABOUT VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH:
Virginia Commonwealth, Old Dominion, Drexel, and James Madison are the teams currently in a four-way tie for first in the Colonial Athletic Association entering Sunday's competition, all with 6-2 league marks. The Rams are currently 16-4 overall. VCU has won six of their last seven, including Thursday night's 75-61 victory at William & Mary. Besides the 68-69 loss to Old Dominion on January 5th, the Ram's other CAA loss was a 60-73 setback at UNC-Wilmington last Sunday. Chesapeake native and Great Bridge graduate, senior center Quanitra Hollingsworth, continues to lead the squad with 14.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. senior forward Radoslava Bachvarova enters Sunday as the Ram's second leading scorer at 10.3 points per contest, while junior forward D'Andra Moss rounds out the double figure averaging Rams at 10.1 points along with a team second-best 6.1 boards per game.
ALL-TIME SERIES WITH VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH:
The Lady Monarchs hold a 54-8 record in the all-time series with the Rams with Old Dominion winning the last 12 outings and 31 of the last 32. The ODU and VCU rivalry dates back to the 1969-70 season where the two teams squared off against each other each season until 1979. The rivalry renewed when VCU joined ODU in the Sun Belt Conference and continued when the Rams joined the CAA for the 1995-96 season. The Rams snapped a 35-game CAA Lady Monarch win-streak back on February 6th, 2003 at the Siegel Center. Old Dominion fell, 56-67, in their first CAA loss in nearly two years. Since then, the Lady Monarchs have rattled off 12 straight wins over Virginia Commonwealth.
LAST TIME VS. VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH:
It was a thriller the last time these two took to the hardwood as the Old Dominion women's basketball team edged out VCU, 69-68, in their CAA opener at the Ted Constant Convocation Center back on January 5th. The Lady Monarchs, who were down by eight with 4:09 remaining in the game, outscored the Rams 13-4 down the stretch including a huge three-pointer by sophomore Jasmine Parker and free throws by senior Jazzmin Walters. Old Dominion trailed by eight, 64-56, with 4:09 left in the game, but managed to make it a two-point ball game by scoring six unanswered points over the next two minutes. Senior Tiffany Green, who spent much of the night in foul trouble, made one of two free throws, Parker connected on a three, and freshman Mairi Buchan hit a jumper from the middle of the circle to cut their disadvantage to 64-62. VCU stopped the Lady Monarch run with a pair of free throws by the Rams' Quanitra Hollingsworth, but Hollingsworth would later foul Parker sending the sophomore Lady Monarch to the line. Parker hit both her attempts from the charity stripe making it a two-point ball game again with VCU up 66-64 with 1:10 to go. A Kita Waller lay-up gave the Rams a 68-64 lead with 55 seconds left on the clock, but on the next play Parker, who entered the game shooting 39.2 percent from beyond the arc as the CAA's second leading three-point shooter, sank the ball in from the top right of the key to pull Old Dominion to within one. Rorie La'tavia missed a lay-up on the other end as sophomore Sierra Little came up with the rebound and was quickly fouled. Little missed the front end of a one-and-one, but the smallest player on the court, Walters, snuck in for the rebound and ended at the foul line herself. Walters sank both her shots to return to the lead to ODU for the first time since the 10 minute mark of the second half. Waller missed the rim on the Rams' next play giving the ball back to Old Dominion. VCU was then forced to foul Walters. Walters missed both her attempts giving the Rams one last shot to snap the Lady Monarch's 34-game CAA home court win streak with 0.7 seconds. The inbounds pass found its way to Waller who launched a desperation three. The heave bounced on the rim, but did not go through the net giving ODU the win.

Head coach Wendy Larry was many of the friends and colleagues attending the funeral of N.C. State coach Kay Yow on Friday. ODU's annual HOOPS FOR A CURE game is slated for Feb. 15 against Delaware.
