MINI MONARCH REMINDER:
Mini Monarchs will be having a pizza party for al members this Sunday following the Georgia State game. Meet in section 101, 102 following the game and one of the Lady Monarch managers will then lead to the party. Remember, members must show their Kids Club membership card in order to get in. LADY MONARCH MOMENTS:
Old Dominion returns home for a pair of games after spending three of the last four on the road.
The George Mason Patriots are one of five schools in the league that have yet to beat the Lady Monarchs - Georgia State (6-0), George Mason (43-0), Northeastern (6-0), UNC-Wilmington (38-0), and Towson (12-0).
Sophomore Jasmine Parker made her second career start in the last game leading the Lady Monarchs with 17 points, two-shy of her career mark, in ODU's 66-56 victory at Northeastern.
Senior Tiffany Green poured in her ** double-double of the year with her 12-point, 11-rebound effort against the Huskies. All 12 of Green's points came in the second half.
Rounding out the double figure scoring from Sunday's game was senior Jazzmin Walters with 15 points.
Jazzmin Walters and Jasmine Parker have each scored in double figures in all three CAA outing thus far and are averaging 13.0 points per contest in league action.
The Lady Monarchs return to action on Sunday against Georgia State at Noon in front of the Comcast SportsNet cameras. Mike Corey and Jody Lavin-Patrick will be on the call.

ABOUT MASON:
The George Mason Patriots have a new head coach patrolling the sidelines in Jeri Porter. Porter comes to George Mason after spending six seasons at Radford with a 93-85 overall mark, including a WNIT berth. Porter's squad this year includes eight letterwinners and four starters from last year's 14-16 overall team. The Patriots went 2-9 during the non-conference schedule which included wins over Howard and Appalachian State and have gone 0-3 since starting conference play with losses to James Madison, VCU, and Towson.
ALL-TIME SERIES WITH MASON:
The Patriots are one of five CAA teams that have yet to defeat the Lady Monarchs. Old Dominion owns a 43-0 record against George Mason.
LAST TIME VS. MASON:
The No. 11 Old Dominion women's basketball team cliched the CAA regular season title with an 82-44 victory over George Mason back on February 28th, 2008 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. T.J. Jordan became the CAA's all-time leader in three-point field goals with her first three of the night hitting the record breaking trey with 19:46 left in the second half. Jordan, who would go on to hit another shot from downtown to bring her career total to 311 three-pointers made, surpassed the previous record of 309 held by Julie Jones (Richmond - 1988-92). The senior guard, who was honored the night before as the Portsmouth Sports Club Virginia Female College Athlete of the Year, scored six points in all. Tiffany Green led all scorers pouring in 19 points and hauling in 12 rebounds, including eight offensive, for her fourth double-double of the 2007-08 season and the 15th of her career. Green's presence inside, along with Jessica Canady who came off the bench for 17 points shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the field, helped Old Dominion outscore George Mason 45-24 in the paint. Shahida Williams was among the other Lady Monarchs in double figures adding in 13 points along with five assists, while freshman Jasmine Parker captured 11 to have notched double figures in three of her last four games. Together Parker and Canady combined for 28 of Old Dominion's 33 bench points. The Lady Monarchs led from the jump racing out to an 8-0 lead within the first two and half minutes of action. The closest George Mason would find themselves would be down four, 10-6, with 14:54 left in the opening stanza. After the Patriots' Eugenia Broadus cut her squad's deficit to four, Old Dominion proceeded to take an 8-0 run and never look back. The 16-time defending CAA champions led by as many as 20 with three minutes remaining and had established a 38-23 halftime advantage. George Mason who shot a blistering 61.5 percent in the second half in the first meeting with Old Dominion and was able to cut a 22-point deficit down to eight with under a minute remaining in the game, was kept in check this time around by the Lady Monarchs. The Patriots would be outscored 44-21 in half number two and held to 8-of-37 (21.6 percent) from the floor.Lateisha Wade was the lone Patriot in double figures with 17 points. She was held to just four second half points after notching 13 in the first half. Moni Akintunde and Broadus each had six in George Mason's fifth straight loss.
THE "COMMITTEE":
If you hear head coach Wendy Larry refer to "the committee", she's referring to the younger members of the Lady Monarch squad - Mairi Buchan, Jasmine Parker, Sierra Little, Vicki Collier, Russia Voronina, and Margaret Harvey. "The committee" certainly came up big in ODU's 79-70 victory at UNC-Wilmington on January 8th. Sophomores Vicki Collier, Little, and Voronina all came off the bench to capture career numbers in helping the Lady Monarchs to victory. Along with Collier's career-high eight points, Little reset her mark with a career-high seven points, and Voronina playing in a career-high 13 minutes went 3-of-3 from the field to collect a career-high six points. Parker, who then got the starting non in the last game, a 66-56 victory at Northeastern, poured in a team-high 17 points.
GETTING THE NOD:
Freshman Mairi Buchan recorded her first career start as the rookie center played in place of the injured Jessica Canady. Buchan ended the game with six points, five rebounds, and three assists. Buchan's start was the first the Lady Monarch rookie to see the starting line-up since the 2005-06 season. The last Lady Monarch freshman to receive a starting nod was current senior Jazzmin Walters, who had her first career start against Virginia Tech on Nov. 25, 2005 in her rookie campaign. Since a member of the starting five, Buchan has averaged 5.8 points and 3.0 rebounds.
CAA HOME COURT STREAK:
The Lady Monarchs have won 35 straight homeCAA contests dating back to the January 14, 2005,78-59, victory over Virginia Commonwealth. ODU'slast conference loss at the Ted Constant ConvocationCenter was against Delaware, 70-73, on January 9,2005. Old Dominion holds a 162-2 home CAAmark.
