Jason Klinkradt

Klinkradt comes to Old Dominion with a high level of coaching experience with over a decade long resume with stops at Delaware, James Madison, Ireland, and South Africa. Last season with the Blue Hens, Klinkradt helped Delaware to a 12-10 record under Head Coach Rolf van de Kerkhof.

He had a brief stint at James Madison University before making the switch to University of Delaware. Before making the transition to the USA, he was the Sports Coordinator and Head of Hockey at The Teresian School in Dublin, Ireland for two years, while also serving as the head coach for YMCA Club Dublin for the past nine years. Prior to holding those positions, Klinkradt held various roles for the Irish Hockey Association such as assistant coach of Ireland’s senior men’s team, support coach for Ireland’s senior women’s team, and a lead performance analyst. Klinkradt was also a head coach at the U21 level, mentoring Free State Province (South Africa) and Leinster Province (Ireland). During that time, his South African medaled three times in their Interstate National Championship, while his Irish team earned two medals. The South African native also spent time with Hockey Ireland’s U21 men’s program as an assistant coach 2016-2018 and performance analyst from 2017-2019. 

In 2014, he became the senior boys head coach and junior girls coach at Wesley College in Dublin. There, he helped produce international players at the U18 and U21 levels before leaving the position in 2020. Klinkradt received a master’s of science degree in sport performance analysis from the Institute of Technology, Carlow in 2020. He earned a Level 3 Coaching Certificate from the South African Hockey Association, as well as a High Performance Coaching Certificate, Level 2 Coaching Facilitator Certificate, and Coaching Education Certificate from the Hockey Ireland Association.
