WELCOME HOME:

LadyMonarchs return to the friendly confines Foreman Field for the first time sincea 4-2 victory over Connecticut back on September 14^th. Its been six games since Old Dominion playedon its home turf. Although the road wasbumpy in the beginning with setbacks to #2 North Carolina (0-4) and #4 Duke(2-3), the Lady Monarchs managed to turn things around and close out their roadtrip winning their last four consecutive games.

WELCOME HOME - AGAIN:

FormerLady Monarchs standout Dawn Hill (1982-85) begins her second season as anassistant coach with the Fightin' Blue Hens.At Old Dominion, she helped lead the Lady Monarchs to nationalchampionships in 1982, 1983, and 1984.She also was the team's leading scorer with 29 goals in 1985 as ODU tooksecond place. That season she set anNCAA record with six goals in four tournament games. Hill completed herfour-year career with 45 goals, seven assists, and 52 total points. She was inducted in the ODU Sports Hall ofFame in 1992.

WELCOME - FOR THE FIRST TIME:

Thisweekend, Towson and Delaware will be making their first ever appearance atForeman Field. The two teams both beganplay in the CAA last season and hosted the Lady Monarchs last season. Although Delaware and Old Dominion havepreviously met in non-conference play, the Fightin' Blue Hens served as host inNewark, DE back in their lone non-conference match-up in 1981. The game ended in a 1-1 tied.

CAA STREAK:

The Lady Monarchs have not lost a CAA contest sincea 1-2 loss to James Madison in the championship game of the 1995 CAATournament. Since then, Old Dominionhas won 42 regular season games and 14 CAA Tournament games for a grand totalof 56 consecutive conference wins.

SHUTOUTS:

The Lady Monarchs began the CAA schedule outscoringtheir opponents 12-0, before the Drexel Dragons finally got one into the pipeslast Sunday. Old Dominion prevailedwith a 3-1 outcome and are outscoring their conferences rivals 13-1.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:

Angie Loy (September 15^th):

Loy helped lead the Lady Monarchs to a pair of winover nationally ranked opponents, which included a 3-0 shutout in the CAAopening win over William & Mary and a 4-2 victory over #10 Connecticut. Loytotaled three goals and two assists on the week. She had a hand in all three ofthe Lady Monarchs goals against the Tribe, scoring two and assisting on theother. Defensively, Loy helped Old Dominion to their first shutout of the 2003season. Again the 10th-ranked Huskies, Loy registered a goal and assist.

Anna Rogers (September 26^th):

Rogers piled up nine points on the weekend on four goals andtwo assists on two games. She talliedtwo goals, including the game-winner, and had an assist in leading Old Dominionto its 4-1 victory over the 12^th ranked Virginia Cavaliers and alsoscored a pair of goals in the Lady Monarchs' second shutout win of the year, a5-0 win over the James Madison Dukes. In eight games before the weekend, Rogershad just one goal on the season.
