NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men’s basketball has a road game at George Washington this Saturday night at 6 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+, and Ted Alexander and Dennis Wolff can be heard on ESPN Sports Radio 94.1. Live stats will also be available.
Series History
ODU hosted GW on Dec. 7 last season, falling to the Revolutionaries, 78-70 at Chartway Arena. Devin Ceaser and Jaden Johnson led the Monarchs with 16 points each and Stephaun Walker finished with 13 points. It marked the first game between ODU and GW since the 2003-04 season.
The two teams have previously met 14 times, with GW ahead in the series, 9-5.

The Monarchs (2-1) improved to 2-0 at home as ODU held off Norfolk State, 60-57 on Tuesday night. LJ Thomas paced the offense with 20 points, and KC Shaw scored 11 unanswered and ended up with 16 points.
Shaw and Thomas are both averaging 16.3 ppg, while Jordan Battle is close to double figures with 9.7 ppg. Scottie Hubbard (6.3 ppg) has knocked down a team-high five three-pointers while Battle is third-best free-throw shooter in the Sun Belt with a 92.3% success rate at the line. Thomas has dished out 12 assists, Battle has six steals, and Caelum Swanton-Rodger (7.3 ppg) has made four blocks. On the glass, Swanton-Rodger and Battle are both grabbing 5.7 rebounds per game.
ODU is shooting a combined 47.1% from the field, 25.7% from long range, and 76.3% at the charity stripe. The Monarchs have the second-best field goal percentage defense in the Sun Belt at 37.6%, and the team ranks third in the conference with 28.33 defensive rebounds per game. Old Dominion nets 75.0 ppg while allowing 65.7 ppg for a +9.3-scoring margin.

The Revolutionaries (3-0) opened the season with a 67-47 win over Maine on Nov. 3 and then defeated South Florida, 99-95 on Nov. 8 in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off. The team hosted American University on Wednesday and came out on top, 107-67.
GW has six different players averaging double figures. Tre Dinkins III is the top scorer at 16.0 ppg. He’s currently 17th in the nation with 4.00 three-pointers per game and 21ist in Division I with 12 made threes. He’s also second in the Atlantic 10 Conference with 22 three-point attempts. Garrett Johnson follows Dinkins with 13.0 ppg, Rafael Castro and Tyrone Marshall Jr. are tied for third on the team with 12.0 ppg, Christian Jones nets 11.3 ppg, and Bubu Benjamin is scoring 11.0 ppg. Marshall Jr. is up to 10 assists, Benjamin has collected seven steals, and Castro has tallied five blocks. Marshall Jr. has pulled down 22 boards and is the top rebounder at 7.3 rpg.
George Washington is shooting 52.0% from the floor, including 36.1% from the perimeter, and 73.6% at the line. The Revs are outscoring their opponents by 21.3 points, scoring 91.0 ppg while holding other teams to 69.7 ppg. They rank 18th nationally in three-point percentage defense (21.7%), 20th in rebounding margin (+16.7), 30th in free throws made per game (22.3), and 33rd in field goal percentage.
GW finished 21-13 overall and 9-9 in the A-10 last season. After falling 80-65 to No. 2 seed George Mason in the A-10 Championship, the Revolutionaries played Boise State in the College Basketball Crown, falling 89-59 to the Broncos.
George Washington is led by fourth-year head coach Chris Caputo and was picked to finish fourth in the A-10 Preseason Poll. Four played earned preseason honors: Castro landed on the Preseason All-Conference First Team and All-Defensive Team, Dinkins earned a spot on the Second Team, and Trey Autry and Jones were named to the Third Team. The Revs have eight returners and seven newcomers.
