NEWARK, Del. – Old Dominion junior swimmer Zach Redding won a pair of events, while Grey Bremer and Bryce Mortimer earned wins to lead the Monarchs on Saturday afternoon at Delaware. The Blue Hens won the women’s meet 240-54, and came out on top against the men, 201-83.

ODU opened the meet with a third place finish in the 400 medley relay as the team of Addie Elliot, Adrienne Rinker, Lauren Masters and Arielle Garbowski finished in a time of 4:00.42.

The men’s 400 medley relay team of Lucas Abd, Bryce Mortimer, Dawson Truong and Zach Redding placed second in 3:35.11.

Gabriella Gonzalez finished third in the 1000 free with a time of 10:47.57.

Grey Bremer took third in the men’s 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.30.

In the 100 backstroke, Elliot placed third in 58.51.

Jadyn Whitt and Rinker finished two-three in the 100 breaststroke. Whitt earned a time of 1:07.64, while Rinker came in 1:07.77. Rinker added another third-place spot with a finish of 2:31.80 in the 200 breaststroke.

Truong followed in the men’s 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.38 to place third.

A native of Delaware, Redding won the men’s 50 freestyle with a time of 20.25 and doubled up with a win in the 100 free with a time of 44.79.

The Monarchs continued to add on points in the 200 backstroke as Linnea Kallebo finished third in a time of 2:08.70, while Sean Lingafelt took third in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:57.88.

Mortimer notched the win in the men’s 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:04.92.

Bremer recorded back-to-back wins for the Monarchs with a triumph in the 500 free with a time of 4:41.27.

Mia Bailon finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.73, while Truong took second in the men’s 100 butterfly with a time of 50.65.

The 400 IM saw Abd finish third with a time of 4:13.13.

The final event of the day was the 400 freestyle relay as the women’s squad of Ally Hilbrich, Whitt, Bailon and Kristilynn Mosley finished third in 3:43.71.

The men’s 400 free relay team of Bremer, Nick Chierico, Nick Martin and Jordan Davis took fourth with a time of 3:12.10.

The Monarchs return to Norfolk for their home opener on Friday, Oct. 17 against Gardner-Webb at 4:30 p.m.
