NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion Sailing wrapped up the weekend events, placing at all three events. At the Riley Cup home event, the Monarch's placed second and sixth. Team "Monarchs" of Diogo Silva/Madison Bivins/Emily Priest in A division and Marina Conde/Emil Body-Goldberg in B division had all finishes in the Top 10 with A division placing third in division and B division placing second. Team "Big Blue" of Gianna Dewey/Morgan Auth in A division and Olivia Gilmore/James O'Leary in B division placed seventh and sixth in division, respectively.
At the Navy Women's regatta, A division of Esther Ireland/Petra Humphrey/Lindsey Kaufmann placed sixth and B division of Arabella Duer/Molly Hanson placed second with the team finishing second overall, beating rivals Navy, St Mary's and George Washington.
The ILCA South event at Navy was a pre-qualifier for the Van Duyne singlehanded conference championship. Pierce Brindley placed third, Blake Goodwin placed ninth and Jonah Willoughby placed 14th. Brindley and Goodwin advanced to the Van Duyne in two weeks at the Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy.
The Monarch's compete this coming weekend in Annapolis at Navy in the Chesapeake Invitational, the Chesapeake Open and the Faye Bennett regattas. The Faye Bennett is the women's conference singlehanded championship.
