Donnelly, Mortimer Lead Swimming at Conference Championships on Friday Night

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Kiersten Donnelly earned a pair of third place finishes and Bryce Mortimer finished in second in the 100 breaststroke to lead Old Dominion University swimming on Friday night at the Sun Belt and Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Kiersten Donnelly earned a pair of third place finishes and Bryce Mortimer finished in second in the 100 breaststroke to lead Old Dominion University swimming on Friday night at the Sun Belt and Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.

Donnelly began the night at the Sun Belt Championships by finishing third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.61. She added a second third-place position in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.92.

Mortimer followed by placing second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 53.64. Dawson Truong came in fourth with a time of 54.07, Toni Sallaku finished 11th in 55.85, August Eriksson 12th with a time of 55.96 and Marcus Schwartz 16th in 57.78.

Gustaf Hansson opened the night session with a sixth-place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 47.99. Ben Schattenberg added a 10th place finish with a time of 50.21, as Jordan Davis took 11th in 49.61.

In the 100 butterfly, Zane Nall led the Monarchs by finishing 12th with a time of 1:52.04, Jamie Cleaver 13th in 1:53.04 and Xander Schreck 14th in 1:55.70.

The Monarchs took third in the final event of the night, the 800 free relay, as Grey Bremer, Mortimer, Ryan Lincicum and Schattenberg earned a time of 6:36.79.

Emma Seidel followed Donnelly in the 100 fly, coming in 11th with a time of 56.98. Lauren Masters came in 12th with a time of 57.36 and Angela Sicaja 13th in 57.98.

Kristilynn Mosley won the B-Final in the 400 IM, finishing ninth with a time of 4:28.90. Kaylee Eggers took 12th in 4:32.15, Sophia Kapla 13th in 4:35.85, Anna Bearor 15th in 4:37.71 and Sydney Welker 16th in 4:38.90.

In the 200 free, Lilly Cleal led ODU by placing 15th with a time of 1:56.23.

Marian Cheramy led four Monarchs in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.47. Jadyn Whitt followed close behind in 13th in 1:05.68, Mary Dunworth 14th in 1:05.71 and Julia de Camargo Gusso 16th in 1:07.53.

Linnea Kallebo finished eighth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.68. Emma Seidel won the B-Final to finish ninth with a time of 56.52. Bella Pachek notched a time of 58.09 to finish 12th.

Both the Sun Belt and ASUN Championships conclude on Saturday, with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
