With the bases loaded Waters hit one to third baseman Jack Doyle, who's throw was wide of the second baseman, allowing Sunderman and Edwards to score and moving Meier to third. The following play Waters was picked off of first and thrown out at second, but Meier scored to give the Monarchs a 4-3 lead.
