NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team closes out a brief two-match homestand on Friday night hosting App State in a Sun Belt Conference East Division matchup at 6 p.m.
 
Old Dominion (9-1-3, 4-1-1) comes into the match after a 0-0 draw with James Madison on Sunday night. The Monarchs outshot the Dukes 14-8, including 11-4 in the second half, but could not find the one to go into the net. Emily Bredek recorded her eighth shutout on the year to move into third place on the single season shutout list.
 
App State heads to Norfolk after a 5-1 win on Sunday over visiting Marshall behind a hat trick from Olivia Simon to propel a five-goal second half for the hosts. The Mountaineers are 5-0-1 at home this year, while 1-4-1 away from Boone, North Carolina.
 
This is the third all-time meeting between the schools, with App State holding a 1-0-1 advantage. ODU allowed a second half goal at App State last year in losing 1-0 on Oct. 14, 2022.
 
ABOUT ODU
Ece Turkoglu leads the Monarchs in goals scored with five and points with 11 adding one assist to her total. Anna Tørsløv follows her in points scored with seven adding three goals and one assist. Thalia Morisi and Megan Watts each have scored three goals for six points.
 
Andrea Balcazar Algarin, Aleigha Arndt and Madison Micheletti have a pair of assists each to lead the Monarchs in that category.
 
In the net, Emily Bredek is tied for fifth nationally in shutouts (8) and third nationally in goals against average (0.314). Her eight shutouts are third on ODU's single-season list.
 
As a team, the Monarchs lead the country in goals against average at 0.308 and are fourth in shutout percentage at .692.
 
ABOUT APP STATE
Izzi Wood leads App State in goals scored (6), points scored (14) and second in assist with two. She had four game-winning goals which shares the lead in the Sun Belt Conference. Stephanie Barbosa is next in goals scored (4) and points (9), while Simon has three goals and one assist for seven points.
 
As a team, App State has outscored opponents 19-12 this year.
 
In the net, Kerry Eagleston has six shutouts, a 0.92 goals against average and a save percentage of .760 having played every minute this season.
