Wilkins Leads Swimming On Final Day Of CCSA Championships

Knoxville, Tenn. – Noah Wilkins took fourth place in the men's 100 freestyle and led Old Dominion on the final day of the CCSA Championships, Saturday night at the University of Tennessee. 

The men's team finished in third place, their best finish since 2019. The women placed eighth in their first CCSA Championship. 

Wilkins led the Monarchs taking fourth place in the men's 100 freestyle with a time of 44.12. 

The event began with the men's 100 freestyle, Wilkins took fourth, three more Monarchs joined Wilkins out of the 16 swimmers. Ryan Lincicum took eighth with a time of 45.43, Jordan Davis took 15th with a time of 45.9i1 and Russell Hronek took 16th finishing in 46.13 seconds. 

In the men's 200 backstroke Jacob Cobb finished fourth in 1:48.10, finishing right behind him in fifth was Ben Schattenberg with a time of 1:49. Gustaf Hansson took eighth and Hugo Eriksson took 13th out of 16.  Hansson finished in 1:49.87 and for Eriksson it was 1:52.76. 

In the women's 200 backstroke, ODU had two swimmers in the final 24. Cara O'Toole took 11thwith a time of 2:00.48 and Summer Sampson placed 23rd finishing in 2:04.58. 

Two Monarchs finished in the men's 200 breaststroke finals that had 16 swimmers. Bryce Mortimer took 7th, finishing in 1:58.88 and Michael Marotta took 11th with a time of 2:03.44. 

Gabby Tosi took finished 23rd out of 23 in the women's 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:22.57. 

In the men's 400 freestyle relay ODU took third out of five teams. The team of Jordan Davis, Russell Hrnonek, Ryan Lincicum, and Noah Wilkins finished in 2:59.76. 

In the women's 400 freestyle relay the Monarchs finished in ninth. The team of Miranda Byrne, Mary Dunworth, Brigid Donnelly, and Tara Enneking finished in 3:28.97. 

In the men's 1650 freestyle Carson Doll finished fifth with a time of 15:51.44 and Grfey 9Bremer finished 8th with a time of 16:00.39. 

In the women's 1650 freestyle ODU had two swimmers. Cara O'Toole finished seventh with a time of 16:57.57 and Brynn Jewell finished 22nd with a time of 17.36.39.
