NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team will host the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb on Saturday night at Chartway Arena in an 8 p.m. tip.

ESPN Radio 94.1FM will have the radio broadcast with Ted Alexander and Dave Twardzik on the call starting at 7:30 p.m. with the Toyota Pregame Show.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Old Dominion went on a 17-3 run over a five-minute span late in the second half to pull out a 72-62 win over William & Mary on Wednesday night. Dericko Williams scored all 11 of his team-high points in the second half and 10 of those in that five-minute span to lead the Monarchs. He added five rebounds and blocked a season high five shots. Those five blocks are the most by a Monarch since the 2018-19 season when Dajour Dickens did it twice. ODU went 12-of-13 from the foul line in the final 3:01. Tyreek Scott-Grayson, Chaunce Jenkins and Faizon Fields had 10 points apiece.
 
Julien Soumaoro and DQ Nicholas paced Gardner-Webb with 14 points each as they dropped an 82-71 decision to Chattanooga on December 3. In the second half, Chattanooga used an 11-2 run between the 16- and 11-minute marks to take control of the game and was able to hold onto the lead for the remainder of the game.
 
SERIES HISTORY
ODU leads the all-time series 2-0 winning the last meeting in the 2014-15 season 58-46 in the Paradise Jam tournament. The first meeting was in the 2000-01 season with the Monarchs winning 84-57 in Norfolk.
 
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Jenkins leads the Monarchs in scoring at 13.4 points per game and in assists with 29, while also second in steals with 10. Ben Stanley is second in scoring at 12.4 ppg and Scott-Grayson rounds out the double figure scorers averaging 11.6 points per game. Mekhi Long is averaging 9.6 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds while leading in steals with 16.
 
The Monarchs are averaging 70 points per game, while allowing 66.1. From the field, ODU is hitting .450 (261-of-580), .338 from 3-point range (44-of-130) and .641 from the foul line (134-of-209). Their opponents are hitting .427 from the field (232-of-543), .318 from 3-point range (75-of-236) and .663 from the line (122-of-184). ODU is outrebounding opponents by over six per game (38.5 – 31.9).
 
Gardner-Webb is topped in scoring by Soumaoro averaging 11.9 points per game and second in assists with 14. Anthony Selden is just behind at 11.6 points and second in rebounding at 4.1 per game. Kareem Reid rounds out the double figure scorers averaging 10.5 points and a team-high 5.3 rebounds per game.
 
As a team, the Runnin' Bulldogs are averaging 64.9 points per game and allowing 67.8. They're hitting .441 from the field (192-of-435), .324 from 3-point range (48-of-148) and .649 from the foul line (87-of-134). Their opponents are hitting .417 from the field (175-of-420), .362 from 3-point range (59-of-163) and .778 from the line (133-of-171).

Season tickets represent a savings of more than $50 for men's games and $45 for women's games, over single-game tickets. Single-game tickets for regular season men's and women's basketball games will go on sale later in the month. Single-game ticket prices start at $18 for men's games and $11 for women's games, with special pricing for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth (12 and younger) and members of the military. ODU students can register for student tickets for free to any ODU men's and women's home game.
