NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team (10-5, 6-3 C-USA) welcomes the Charlotte 49ers to Chartway Arena on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 4:00 p.m. The game will stream on ESPN+.
 
Radio:
The games will also air across the ODU Sports Radio Network, with Ted Alexander and Dave Twardzik's live pregame show beginning 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
 
All-Time Series:
Saturday night will mark the 42nd all-time meeting between these two schools, as ODU leads the series 26-15. Old Dominion has won seven of the last eight meetings and 11 of the last 13 contests. These two programs met twice last season, with each team winning on its home hardwood (L, 53-47 and W, 66-62). The Monarchs have won two of the last three games when playing the 49ers in Charlotte. The first ever meeting between these two schools was during the 1982-83 season.
 
Old Dominion:
The Monarchs have won six of their last eight games, including a thrilling 78-76 overtime win over the 49ers on Wednesday. Last weekend, ODU split against Marshall. In the first game against the Thundering Herd on Friday night at Chartway Arena, ODU erased a 21-point deficit to claim an 82-81 victory. The 21-point comeback tied a program record.
 
ODU currently has four players averaging double-figures so far this season: Malik Curry (16.5 ppg), Austin Trice (10.8 ppg), Kalu Ezikpe (10.3 ppg) and A.J. Oliver II (10.2 ppg).
 
Xavier Green enters Wednesday's contest with 992 career points, needing just eight more to reach the 1,000 point mark.
 
Charlotte:
The 49ers enters Saturday's contest with a 9-10 overall record and a 5-6 mark in league play. Charlotte is most recently coming off two losses against Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
 
So far this season, Charlotte has been led by Jahmir Young (19.2 ppg), Jordan Shepard (12.0 ppg) and Brice Williams (10.2 ppg).
 
Head coach Ron Sanchez is in the midst of his third season at the helm for the 49ers.

The "Monarch Cutouts", presented by Chartway, are available for $59 and will be placed in camera-view seats. The cutouts will be in attendance at all ODU men's and women's basketball games during the 2020-21 season.
