NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University women's swimming defeated Campbell 137-124 on Saturday afternoon in the first meet of the season.
Tara Enneking and Summer Sampson led the way for the Monarchs with a pair of wins.
Rebecca Mayo got the meet started on a strong note for ODU with a win in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:55.82.
Sampson earned her first win of the day in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.12, edging out teammate Alizee Brossier, who had a time of 59.21.
Paige Romine added a win for ODU in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.29, as Katie Ellett finished second in 1:07.15.
Enneking's first win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.07 and won the 100 freestyle in a time of 52.16.
Sampson piled her second win of the day in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.92. Brossier again finished second with a time of 2:05.47.
Ellett delivered a win for the Monarchs in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:26.33.
The 500 freestyle was a clean sweep for the Monarchs. Miranda Byrne won in a time of 5:22.13, while Brigid Donnelly was second and Kinsey Rushevics took third.
Stephanie Nardone added a second place finish for ODU in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.67.
Ellett completed the individual events with a second place in the 400 IM.
ODU won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:54.44 to begin the day for the Monarchs.
