IRVING, Texas - Old Dominion University football placed kicker Brad Davis on the prestigious National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor society, the NFF announced on Wednesday. The honor society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career.
Davis posted a 3.25 GPA and has already graduated with a degree in exercise science.
A native of Virginia Beach, he played in six games this season, handling kickoff duties. He delivered three touchbacks on the year.
As a junior in 2018, Davis booted a career-high 26 touchbacks as a kickoff specialist. He also was a kickoff specialist as a sophomore with 19 touchbacks. As a freshman in 2016, he was selected to the C-USA All-Freshman team. He was the Monarchs' primary kicker, going 45-for-46 on extra points and 10-for-12 in field goals, including a career long 43-yarder in the win at UTEP. In ODU's 24-21 Popeyes Bahamas Bowl win over Eastern Michigan, he scored ODU's first points with a 34-yard field goal, and added three extra points.
Qualifications for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include:
· Being a starter or a significant contributor in one's last year of eligibility (or a senior who has declared for the NFL Draft) at an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university;
· Achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study; and Meeting all NCAA/NAIA mandated progress towards degree requirements.
