Football Camp Practice Report: Day Three

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University football completed its third day of fall practice and first in shoulder pads, on Wednesday Morning. By NCAA rule, the first two practice must be in helmets and the next two in shoulder pads, before the full pads come on the fifth day.

The sun was beating down again Wednesday morning for the Monarchs' two and a half hour workout, mixing in special teams, a pad-popping inside run/combo period, one on ones and team drills.

Team Drill Highlights
In a competitive session of situational football, the offense and defense tied on in the first set of team drills with the offense backed up, and the defense won the following two, including the final period in the red zone.

◊ Kesean Strong added to his strong camp in the first three days with a 35-yard touchdown run.
◊ Blake LaRussa hit Robert Mayo over the middle for a 20-yard pass.
◊ Jeremy Cox ripped off a 25-yard touchdown run.
◊ Nick Rice hit on field goals from 40 and 45 yards.
