TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 26 Old Dominion men’s tennis team (9-6) took down South Florida (3-8) by a 4-3 score on Saturday at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
“This was a real ugly win today, but the guys showed guts and heart for the program,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “We talked about bouncing back after yesterday and fell behind again on top of that. Digging out three first sets in a tie break and having a comeback win against the reigning American Conference champs on the road shows character. I’m very happy and proud of Jannik to show poise when it came down to his court. For him to deliver under such pressure as a freshman is huge for our program and his development.”
The Monarchs will play their third match in as many days on Sunday, March 11 against George Washington at 1:00 p.m.
