WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Old Dominion men’s tennis team (4-2) defeated the defending West Coast Conference regular season champion, Portland (0-3), on Saturday afternoon by a 4-1 score at the Wake Forest Tennis Center, as part of the 2018 ITA Kick-Off.
“Today showed again what a great character this team has,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “We didn’t let the loss yesterday effect us and came out ready to go from the first point. We were able to carry the energy into singles and get some nice straight set wins.”
Looking Ahead - Home Sweet Home
ODU will host five straight home matches at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center, beginning with a Saturday, Feb. 10 match against Louisiana Lafayette at 1:00 p.m.
“We are looking forward to having next weekend off so we can get work in in the gym and on the court for a nice home stretch,” concluded Mueller.
