WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The No. 49 Old Dominion men’s tennis team (17-5) downed William & Mary (9-11) in the regular season finale on Sunday afternoon by a 4-3 score. The Monarchs clinched the match at a 4-0 score, but played out the remaining two singles matches. ODU has now won nine of its last 11 matches.

“I'm very happy with our composure throughout the dual match,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “We played a solid doubles point and won three matches in straight sets. After we clinched the match we lost some focus and let too many games in a row get away from us.”

Next week, the Tennis Monarchs will travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the 2017 C-USA Tournament, held on April 21-23. Please stay tuned to www.ODUSports.com for updates.

“After the Georgia State loss we talked about starting a winning streak before the postseason,” Mueller continued. “We did that with three straight wins, two of them on the road. We are flying to Murefreesboro with confidence.”
