BOSTON, Mass. – The Old Dominion men’s tennis team improved to 5-0 on the season after defeating Harvard (1-1) by a 4-0 score on Sunday. Old Dominion has now won 23 of 24 singles matches this season and has claimed the doubles point in four of its opening five matches. Three of ODU’s wins have been shutouts, while the other two came in 6-1 fashion.
“What a team effort by our guys,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “To beat a team that we lost to last year on the road in such fashion is pretty impressive I think. We have a short turn around and need to get ready for Denver. I'm looking forward to another great weekend in Columbus.”
Aziz Kijametovic made quick work out of Jean Thirouin 6-1, 6-2 on in No. 4 singles to give ODU a 2-0 advantage.
No. 24 nationally ranked Adam Moundir also remained undefeated for the season when he won in straight sets against Sebastian Beltrame 7-5, 6-3.
Javier Jover Maestre clinched the match after taking down Grant Solomon 6-1, 7-6.
