BOSTON, Mass. – The Old Dominion men’s tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season after downing San Francisco (0-1) by a 4-0 score at the Pre-ITA Kick-Off/Crimson Challenge on Saturday. With the victory, ODU will take on Harvard on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. All matches will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network.

“We had some very good performances today,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “But as a whole, we didn't finish sets on some courts. We need to execute a little better tomorrow against a very good Harvard team. We lost to them 4-3 last year and I expect another close match.”

The Monarchs got off to a 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point via wins from Adam Moundir/Jacob Nicolussi and Michael Weindl/Javier Jover Maestre.

No. 24 nationally ranked Adam Moundir made quick work of Johan Joenhagen (6-2, 6-2) to give ODU a 2-0 lead.

Michael Weindl made it 3-0 after defeating Ryan Marker 6-1, 6-3.

Aziz Kijametovic sealed the deal for Old Dominion when he took down Oliver Poysti 6-2, 6-3.

Meet Harvard
Harvard finished the 2015-16 season with a 16-11 record in dual match play, including a 10-4 mark at Murr Center. The Crimson narrowly missed a bid to the NCAA Tournament, notching a 5-6 record against teams ranked in the top 40 of the ITA rankings.
