SERIES VS. RICE
ODU leads, 3-0. The Monarchs won in Norfolk on Jan. 15, 63-53 as Aaron Bacote led with 25 points and Jonathan Arledge added 15 with 11 rebounds. Marcus Jackson led Rice with 15 points. ODU shot .476 from the field and Rice .396. This is the first time ODU has played in Houston. DID YOU KNOW: Hanging in the Rice Field House are banners of their 11 Rhodes Scholars, 3 Nobel Price Winners and a Pulitzer Prize winner.
LAST GAME
ODU defeated C-USA leader LA Tech, 72-53 before a crowd of 8.019 at the Constant Center. ODU jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never trailed. Trey Freeman led with 27 points while Denzell Taylor hauled down nine rebounds. The Monarchs shot .491 from the field and LA Tech only .316. Raheem Appleby led LA Tech with 10 points. ODU has now held the league’s top scoring teams Charlotte (twice) and LA Tech under 60 points this season.
