BOSTON, Mass. – Old Dominion rowing concluded its racing at the 50th Head of the Charles Regatta with a 17th-place finish in the Women’s Championship Four and a 28th-place finish in the Women’s Championship Eight on Sunday on the Charles River.
In the Women’s Championship Four event, the Lady Monarchs came in 17th overall and 14th among collegiate crews with a time of 21:19.093. A pair of U.S. national team boats took the race's top two spots behind times of 17:29.179 and 18:01.145.
In the program’s final race of the day, the Old Dominion varsity eight came in 28th place in the Women’s Championship Eight, 27th among collegiate crews, in 18:01.60.
The Lady Monarchs will return to the water On Oct. 25-26, as they compete in the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa. Last season, Old Dominion took home the Commodore Cup.
