SCHEDULE
CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Old Dominion University’s rowers competed in Cherry Hill, N.J. for the 2013 Knecht Cup throughout Saturday. The regatta is split into two days, with competition concluding on Sunday. The Knecht Cup features 34 different events in men's and women's collegiate divisions. Athletes from over 60 institutions are participating.
The Lady Monarchs competed in the: Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, Second Varsity Four and the Frosh/Novice Four.
Old Dominion’s Frosh/Novice Four won their heat with a time of 8:19.50. In their semifinal race, the Lady Monarchs trimmed nearly 10 seconds off their heat time, finishing in 8:09.94. ODU’s Frosh/Novice Four team will compete in the Finals on Sunday.
In the Second Varsity Four, Old Dominion placed second in their heat with a time of 8:02.43. The Lady Monarchs shaved seven seconds off their heat time and placed third in their semifinal race, which means ODU’s Second Varsity Four team will be competing in the Finals tomorrow.
The Old Dominion Second Varsity Eight will be competing in the Petite Final. The Varsity Eight and Varsity Four teams will be racing in the Third Level Finals on Sunday.
