Monarchs lost to VMI, 76-71 Wednesday night as Stan Okoye led the Keydets with 22 points and D.J. Covington added 13 points with 13 rebounds. Sophomore Dimitri Batten led ODU with a career high 21 points, while both Richard Ross and DeShawn Painter grabbed nine rebounds. VMI shot .483 from the floor while ODU shot .411. The Monarchs outrebounded VMI, 47-34, but committed 18 turnovers. It was VMI's first win over ODU in 13 meetings dating back to 1977-78.
