NORFOLK, Va. -- Five Monarchs earned two singles wins in a pair of team victories on Sunday, as ODU dropped CAA foe James Madison, 6-1, and University of Maryland Baltimore County, 6-1. The Monarchs improve to 13-6 overall and 1-2 in the CAA this season.
ODU also swept the doubles points in each match, behind Krzysztof Muzalewski and Yakov Diskin at No. 2 doubles and Fahoum Fahoum with Albert Ochagavia at No. 3. Muzalewski bounced back with a pair of singles wins at No. 4 after losing his 8-match winning streak last time out. He improves to 20-8 overall and 14-3 in dual matches this season.
ODU also got a pair of wins at No. 1, behind junior Tobias Fanselow, improving to 17-2 in dual matches, and at No. 2, as Benjamin Chomette battled to defeat his opponents and improve to 14-5 this year.
Chomette lost the first set to JMU rookie Greg Vladimirsky, 3-6, but bounced back for a 6-4 win in the second and a 10-3 win in the third. Against UMBC, he posted a 6-1, 6-2 straight set win.
ODU rookies Fahoum Fahoum and Albert Ochagavia also posted two wins for ODU on Sunday.
The Monarchs will return to the courts in two weeks as they host Binghamton on March 21 at 10:00 a.m.
