Hernndez Get Three Hits In ODU's Lost To Bucknell

NORFOLK, VA--Andrew Brouse and Ben Yoder each hit two-run homers to lead the Bison ofBucknell to a 7-4 win over Old Dominion (4-4) Sunday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.

ODU tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second on a two-run double by Cameron Scott (Culpepper, Va.), scoringEdgar Hernandez (Puerto Rico) and Chris Baker (Chesapeake, Va.).

In the third inning, Brouse hit a two run homer to break the deadlock and give Bucknell a 4-2Lead. In the fourth inning Yoder hit a two-run homer to increase the lead to 6-2. Drew Constable'sSacrifice fly plated BJ LaRosa to complete their scoring.

ODU added a run in the seventh as freshman Austin McGowan (Midlothian, VA.) singled home Scott.In the eighth Inning Edgar Hernandez singled home Chris Buss (Rosemount, MN.).

Hernandez led ODU with three hits on the day, while McGowan, Chris Baker, and CameronScott each had two hits on the day.

B.J LaRosa led the Bison with four hits today. Jack Boehm picked up the win with 5.2 inningsof work. Andrew Clarke came on to pick up the save in the eighth inning.

The Monarchs return to action Tuesday and Wednesday when they host Mount St. Mary's , coached by ODUHall of Famer Scott Thomson ('91) at 3 p.m. both days.
