NORFOLK, Va. -- Juniors Tobias Fanselow and Benjamin Chomette earned their biggest win of the season in doubles play, upsetting the 19th ranked tandem in the nation, but William & Mary would win four singles matches to drop Old Dominion in the Monarchs CAA opener.
The ODU pair won, 8-6, at No. 1 Doubles, over the 19th ranked Tribe pair, Sebastien Vidal and Keziel Juneau. At No. 2 Doubles, Yakov Diskin and Krzysztof Muzalewski sealed the crucial doubles point with an 8-5 victory over William & Mary's Anton Andersson and Jamie Whiteford.
At No. 1 singles, Fanselow continued his hot play with another win over a nationally ranked opponent, when he dispatched #75 Juneau in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Muzalewski would also win in singles play for ODU, dropping Andersson, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 4 singles.
William & Mary would win the other four matches though, to win the CAA match, 4-3. Chomette would have his 5-match win streak snapped at No. 2.
ODU returns to the courts on Wednesday, February 24 as they travel to #47 VCU.
