LADY MONARCH MOMENTS:
Old Dominion snapped a three-game losing streak with a thrilling 69-68 victory over VCU to open up Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action Monday night. The game pitted the two teams from last year's CAA championship game which saw the Lady Monarchs win its NCAA record 17th straight league crown.

Old Dominion heads into Thursday's game with UNC-Wilmington looking to pick up its first road win (non-neutral site) of the 2008-09 season after suffering losses at Texas, Michigan State, and Ole Miss.

The Seahawks are one of five current members of the CAA that have not defeated the Lady Monarchs.

Senior Tiffany Green continues to lead the squad in scoring having posted double figures in all but one game (Saint Joseph's) this season. The senior post player led ODU with 15 points in the Lady Monarchs 69-68 CAA opening win over VCU Monday night.

ABOUT UNC-WILMINGTON:
The Seahawks enter Thursday's contest with Old Dominion with a 7-5 overall record. UNC-Wilmington opened up its conference schedule on Sunday with a 61-49 home victory over Georgia State to snap a two-game losing streak. Sophomore Treasure Johnson recorded career-highs of 18 points and eight rebounds in the victory over the Panthers. The Seahawks have a trio averaging double figures. Sophomore forward/guard Brittany Blackwell, the CAA Rookie of the Year last year and a First Team Preseason All-CAA selection heading into the year, leads the Seahawks with 15.8 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. She is currently fifth in the CAA in scoring. Junior guard Greta Luksyte checks in in at 11.9 points per contest while senior guard/forward Sahsha Taylor, a Second Team Preseason All-CAA honoree, is averaging 10.7 points per game

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH UNC-WILMINGTON:
Old Dominion leads the all-time series 37-0. The Seahawks are one of five CAA teams that have yet to record a victory over the Lady Monarchs. Old Dominion won all three meetings last year, including,a 67-55 win at Trask Coliseum on January 9th, a 93-56 victory at the Constant Center on February 3rd, and an 82-65 CAA quarterfinal victory at the Bob Carpenter Center on March 14th.

LAST TIME VS. UNC-WILMINGTON:
Tiffany Green had 19 points and 12 rebounds, former Lady Monarch Shahida Williams added 16 points and 11 rebounds as top-seeded Old Dominion held off eighth-seeded UNC Wilmington 82-65 in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament on March 14th, 2008.Jessica Canady scored 14 points and T.J. Jordan had 12 for the Lady Monarchs (27-4), who improved to 48-0 in Colonial tournament games and 37-0 all-time against the Seahawks. GrEta Luksyte scored 16 points, Brittany Blackwell added 13 and Shade Smith had 11 for UNC Wilmington (17-14), which lost to Old Dominion for the third time last season. Sahsha Taylor added 10 points for the Seahawks.The Lady Monarchs went ahead 71-51 on a 3-pointer by Megan Pym with 6:05 remaining. However, Wilmington responded with a quick 10-0 run - four points by Taylor, four by Candace Walker and two by Blackwell - to cut the deficit in half with 3:28 left. Old Dominion came right back with a 7-0 run, six by Green, to pull ahead 78-61 and ending the Seahawks' threat. Old Dominion jumped out to a 17-4 advantage and extended its lead to 37-21 at halftime.The Lady Monarchs shot 52 percent (15-for-29) while UNC-Wilmington struggled, as it missed 18 of 23 shots (22 percent). The Seahawks misfired on 15 of their first 16 attempts and wound up committing 17 turnovers in the first half.

COLONIAL DOMINANCE:
Old Dominion has captured 17-straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) titles since joining theleague from the Sun Belt Conference during the 1991-92 season. TheLady Monarchs are in the NCAA record books for capturing the mostconsecutive conference championships. In league play, Old Dominionholds a 312-17 overall record, which includes eights seasons of undefeated play. The Lady Monarchs hold a 162-2 record at home and a150-15 road record. Only two CAA losses have occurred on OldDominion's homecourt. The first was back at the ODU Fieldhouse,the former Lady Monarch homecourt from 1969-2002, againstRichmond, now of the Atlantic-10, with a 70-74 defeat on February19, 1992 and the second versus Delaware with a 70-73 setback onJanuary 9, 2005. Five schools in the league have yet to beat the LadyMonarchs - Georgia State (6-0), George Mason (43-0), Northeastern(5-0), UNC-Wilmington (37-0), and Towson (12-0).

The Lady Monarchs are looking for its first road victory (non-neutral site) win of the year. Old Dominion is currently 0-3 on the road having suffered losses to #14/13 Texas, (44-78) #24/RV Michian State (48-74), and Ole Miss (72-79).

Senior Tiffany Green is currently 14th in the nation in blocks per game, averaging 2.7 per contest through the first nine games of the season. Brittney Pittman of Morehead State currently leads the nation swatting away 6.1shot per game. Last season, Green led the CAA in rejections at 1.94 per game. She is currently fourth on the CAA All-Time Blocks Leaders List with 178 career swats.
