NORFOLK, VA.--Sophomore righthander Anthony Shawler (Chesapeake, Va. ) pitched a complete game, and junior second baseman Chris Keenan's (Chesapeake, VA.)two-out single broke a three-all tie to lift Old Dominion (15-10/3-2) to a 7-3 win in game two and a split with the Pride of Hofstra (7-10/2-3) who rallied to win game one 6-5.

Shawler upped is record to 5-0, fanning nine, walking only two in the seven inning second game. He has 61 strikeouts in 43.1 innings of work. His ERA is 2.91.

With the game tied at three in the bottom of the sixth, Keenan singled home Nick Erdman (Leola,PA.) with two outs. Mike Zahm (Omaha, NE.) thentripled in Keenan and Gerard Hall (Washington, DC.) and Jake McAloose (Virginia Beach, VA.) bunt single plated Zahm to make it 7-3. Zahm led ODU with three runs batted in while Keenan, McAloose, Hall and Cameron Scott (Culpepper, VA.) each had two hits in the second game. Patrick Rogers led Hofstra with two hits.

In the opening game, ODU took a 4-0 lead behind the pitching of Dan Hudson(Virginia Beach, VA.) after six innings, but Hofstra scored three runs in the seventh andthree in the ninth for the win.

In the Hofstra seventh, designated hitter Andrew Campana singled in Patrick Rogers and Matt Prokopowicz, then Tom Legregni singled home Campana. In the ninthChris Mentrasti doubled home Campana. Anthony Sarno followed with a triple toright center to score Mentrasti to tie the game at five. Tony Schmitt reached on aODU throwing error which allowed Sarno to score the lead run for the Pride.

Anthony Shawler doubled home two runs in the fourth and then scored on NickErdman's single. Shawler also homered in the sixth to give the Monarchs a 4-0 lead.David Burns sacrifice fly scored Chris Keenan to give ODU a 5-3 lead.

Anthony Shawler led ODU with four hits and three runs batted in, whileAndrew Campana led Hofstra with four hits and two runs batted in. He also scoredtwice. Jeff Denlea came on in the eighth inning for Hofstra to pick up the win.

The same two teams will play Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.
