 Third season

Fan-favorite Stacy Himes returns for her third year as an assistant coach with the Lady Monarch basketball program. A 1997 graduate of Old Dominion , Himes was a co-captain on the 34-2 squad that advanced to the NCAA national championship game against Tennessee.

At Old Dominion, Himes' primary responsibilities will be to oversee the academic progress of Lady Monarch players, to coordinate all equipment management for the Lady Monarchs, and to supervise tape exchange. Himes will also assist with the on-court development of Lady Monarch perimeter players. In addition to her other duties, Himes is involved in the Lady Monarch basketball camps for girls.

Himes finished her Old Dominion career with 129 games played for the Lady Monarchs, a standing good enough for eighth place on the all-time games played list. Her contributions to the team, however, were measured in ways beyond the score book. A classic student of the game, Himes was the quintessential captain and had a court-awareness rivaled by few.

During her senior season, Himes started all 36 games for the Lady Monarchs and averaged 3.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per contest. It was during that season that the Lady Monarchs made an impressive run through the national spotlight. Collecting a 34-2 overall mark, Old Dominion stopped seven ranked opponents throughout the year, including Tennessee and Stanford. Reaching the Final Four, the Lady Monarchs knocked the Cardinal out of contention before losing a heartbreaker to the Lady Vols in the championship game.

As a Lady Monarch, Himes amassed an impressive 63-1 mark against Colonial Athletic Association foes and collected four conference crowns.

Following graduation, Himes joined the Virginia Wesleyan coaching staff for the 1997-98 season before returning to her alma mater. A native of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Himes currently resides in Norfolk.
