Zack DeThomasis

Assistant Director of Operations

Zack DeThomasis joined Old Dominion in March of 2024 and is in his first season as the assistant director of football operations.
 
DeThomasis came to ODU from Long Island University, where he spent three years in a variety of different roles. He joined the athletics department as the coordinator of athletics operations in the fall of 2022 before being promoted to the assistant athletics director for facilities and operations in February of 2023. That August he was named the director of football operations for the LIU football program.
 
He got into college athletics as a volunteer football operations assistant at Albany in 2019.
 
DeThomasis then worked for a short time at the American Athletic Conference as an operations assistant before taking on the role of Community Service Coordinator at Washington State. He spent nearly two years at WSU before joining Long Island.
 
A graduate of UMBC, DeThomasis was a member of the Retrievers baseball team for two years after transferring from Hudson Valley Community College. At UMBC he started 26 games in the outfield, hitting .250 with five extra base hits and 15 RBIs. He earned his undergraduate degree in media communication studies and he received his master’s degree from Washington State sport management.
