Victor Irokansi

Defensive Line
Victor Irokansi is in his third season as defensive line coach at Old Dominion.

In his second season at Old Dominion, Irokansi led a young group that improved throughout the year, led by sophomore Alonzo Ford who earned Sun Belt honorable mention honors. Ford has started all 25 games he's played in in his ODU career, while redshirt freshman Denzel Lowry earned College Football News Freshman All-America honorable mention accolades. Sophomore Devin Brandt-Epps led the group with 5.5 tackles for loss despite missing three games due to injury.

In his first season in Norfolk, Irokansi helped build the best run defense in program history with a young group up front. True freshman Amorie Morrison earned C-USA All-Freshman honors, recording 32 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss. True freshman Alonzo Ford started all 13 games at defensive tackle and led all ODU defensive linemen with 38 tackles. Fellow true freshman Chazz Wallace played all 13 games and recorded 26 tackles with a pair of sacks. Sokoya McDuffie saw significant playing time for the first time in his four-year ODU career and notched 28 tackles, four sacks. and six tackles for loss. The eldest member of the group was junior Tyre Bibby, who started all 13 games and made 20 tackles, while Devin Brandt-Epps moved inside and outside as a freshman and recorded 31 tackles and five tackles for loss.
Irokansi joined ODU after spending the previous two seasons as a prospect analyst at Oklahoma State.
Prior to joining his alma mater, Irokansi was a graduate assistant coach working with the defensive line at Ole Miss.
For the 2017 season, he worked with the defensive line as a graduate assistant coach at Texas State, and prior to that was a defensive quality control coach at Eastern Illinois.
Irokansi joined the Oklahoma State coaching staff after injuries forced him to retire from playing for the Cowboys. He was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and played on three teams that played in bowl games. Oklahoma State won the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl and 2015 Cactus Bowl, and also played in the 2014 Cotton Bowl. 

He earned his bachelor's degree in sociology at Oklahoma State in 2016.
