Chris James is in first season as a graduate assistant coach working with the offensive line.
James joins the Monarch coaching staff after spending the 2020 season at Mary Hardin-Baylor, and prior to that spent a year helping with the offensive line at Mississippi State.
In 2018, James worked as an offensive quality control coach at Southern Illinois.
He earned his start in college coaching at Millikin University (Ill.) and spent three years with the Big Blue in a variety of positions, including defensive line coach, running backs coach, recruiting coordinator and assistant strength and conditioning coach.
James played collegiately at North Central College (Ill.) on the offensive line. He earned his degree in criminal justice from North Central and a masters degree in sport administration from Mary Hardin-Baylor.
