Dwight Galt IV is in his first season as the Director of Sports Performance at Old Dominion. He joined the Monarchs in January, 2019.
“Coach Galt brings tremendous knowledge and passion to our program. It was clear to all of us when he interviewed the enthusiasm and leadership he will bring to our football team in the weight room,” ODU head coach Bobby Wilder said. “Coach James Franklin and I talked about Coach Galt on more than one occasion and he was very strong in his recommendation that he would impact our football team immediately.”
Galt Comes to ODU after spending the last seven seasons at Penn State as the assistant director of strength and conditioning. He helped Penn State to seven-straight winning seasons, including back-to-back 11-win seasons in 2016 and 2017.
Prior to joining Penn State, Galt spent three years as a graduate assistant and then an assistant strength and condition coach at South Carolina.
Following a four-year playing career at Maryland, he entered into the strength and conditioning profession as an intern at Maryland.
