2012: Appeared in nine games making two starts ... Finished the season with 31 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble ... AT VANDERBILT: Played as a member of the Commodores special team unit in 2011 ... Was one of five true freshman to play in Vanderbilt’s secondary as a freshman in 2010 ... As a true freshman, played in 10 of 12 games playing with special teams and as a reserve safety with four solo tackles.

HIGH SCHOOL: Simmons was a two-year starter at safety at South County High School for Pete Bendorf ... Helped the Stallions to a 7-5 record and second round of the Division 6-AAA state playoffs ... As a senior was an All-State selection and Team MVP after recording 75 tackles, three interceptions, 11 defended passes, and three fumble recoveries ... Also added 285 yards rushing and three touchdowns at halfback ... Senior captain ... First Team All-Patriot District and All-Northern Region ...
