NORFOLK, VA. --Old Dominion's match with Wake Forest, ranked fourth by College Soccer News (Sept. 19) and Marshall (Sept. 20) originally scheduled for William and Mary's tournament and new stadium has been switched to the ODU Soccer Stadium. Both matches will start at 7 p.m. The Deamon Deacons (15-2-4) were the top seed in last year's NCAA College Cup and defeated ODU in the second round, 1-0 on a late goal.

The Old Dominion University men's soccer squad garnered69 points, tying them with William and Mary for second spot on the CAA pre-seasonpoll as voted on by the league's ten head coaches.

Defending CAA Champion Virginia Commonwealth got 81 points and nine first place votes and was a unanimous choice to capture the title again (coach can't vote for his own team).

ODU, William and Mary and VCU each earned berths in the NCAA Men'sCollege Cup last year. The Monarchs were 10-9-1 last year and advanced to the secondround of the NCAA College Cup for the first time in school history. The Monarchs havesix starters back, including two-time CAA Player of the Year Attila Vendegh (BratislavaSlovakia), who is already the school's career leader in goals (46), and points (108). Alsoback is two-time All-CAA defender Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA.) and senior goalkeeper Sam Cameron (Raleigh, NC.).
