NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion senior offensive lineman Zach Barlev earned first team All-Sun Belt Conference honors, while quarterback Colton Joseph was named the Offensive Player of the Year, to lead 11 Monarchs on the Sun Belt All-Conference Team. Joseph was named second team quarterback, while Ryan Joyce earned second team honors on the offensive line and Tre Brown third team at wide receiver. Jerome Carter was named to the second team defense, while Kris Trinidad and Jeremy Mack received third team honors. The vote was conducted by league head coaches and media members. Na’eem Abdul-Rahim Gladding, Stephon Dubose Bourne, Chris Forbes and Mario Easterly earned honorable mention recognition.

Barlev started all 12 games at left tackle, holding down the blindside for one of the top offenses in the Sun Belt. ODU has allowed the fewest sacks in the Sun Belt and is second in the league in rush offense and total offense. Barlev started all 24 games he played for the Monarchs the last two years.

Joseph completed 173-of-290 passes for 2,624 yards and 21 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,007 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is tied for the Sun Belt lead in total touchdowns and tied for sixth in the country with 34 touchdowns and ranks second in the league in total offense and touchdown passes. His 1,007 rushing yards is fourth in the country by a quarterback, and he ranks eighth in the country in total offense. He is second in the country with 15.2 yards per completion.

A transfer from Fordham in his seventh year of college football, Joyce played center for the first time in his career and started all 12 games for the Monarchs.

Brown leads the Monarchs and ranks ninth in the Sun Belt with 751 yards on 37 receptions. He is tied for fifth in the country with seven receptions of 40+ yards, including a school record 98-yard touchdown grab at James Madison. He ranks sixth in the country with 20.3 yards per reception.

Carter started all 12 games at safety and led ODU with 72 tackles and four interceptions. In the 47-7 win over Coastal Carolina, he recorded a career high 12 tackles and a tackle for loss.

Mack led the Monarchs with 4.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss and finished third on the team with 67 tackles. He delivered a tackle for loss in 9-of-12 games and had two TFL’s at JMU.

Trinidad led all ODU defensive linemen with 32 tackles and added 3.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. He earned SBC Defensive Player of the Week accolades in the win over Troy, when he registered five tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Abdul-Rahim Gladding led ODU in receptions with 40 and touchdowns with six, for 607 yards.

Dubose-Bourne started all 12 games at right tackle for the Monarchs and now has made 35 career starts over three different positions. He also started games at left and right guard.

Easterly finished second on the team with 71 tackles and had four pass breakups.

Forbes started the final 10 games on the defensive line and tied for second on the team with eight tackles for loss. His 30 tackles are second on the team for a defensive lineman.

ODU finished the regular season with a 9-3 overall record and 6-2 in the Sun Belt. The Monarchs are bowl bound and will find out their bowl destination on Sunday, Dec. 7. Stay tuned to ODUSports.com for more information.
